Rahul Dravid joins 10,000-run club


Rahul Dravid became the sixth player to tally 10,000 Test runs, reaching the milestone in the first Test against South Africa at the packed Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday.

The 37-year-old Indian batsman playing his 120th Test reached the mark en route to his 25th ton in the longer version of the sport. Dravid also fondly referred as The Wall for his stubborn batting acheived the coveted mark when he moved to 80 with a push to vacant mid-wicket area off Morne Morkel for a single.

He joined the elite league headed by Brian Lara, Sachin Tendulkar, Allan Border, Steve Waugh and Sunil Gavaskar. The Bangalorean have already reached 10-000-mark in shorter version of the sport.
