Asia cup 2010 final match:IND vs SL

Dambulla: India vs. Sri Lanka Asia Cup 2010 Final Highlights: IND trashes SL. Team India have managed to trash Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup Final match here by 81 runs.
Dinesh Karthik was declared as the Man of the Match for his gritty knock of 66. The final day was proved great the Indian team.
It is a much needed balm to heal the wounds caused by recent devastating losses in the World T20 Championships and the Zimbabwe tri-series.
After winning the game the Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said, “The guys have put in a lot of effort with respect to fitness. I am really happy with the performance.”
He said further, “The batsmen got starts but none went on to get a big score. We wanted to get Dilshan out quickly so that 30-40 quick runs can be wiped out immediately.”
The Indian captain said, “The way Zaheer and Nehra bowled after that was simply superb. I was just expecting the wicket to do something, there was something for the fast bowlers.”
When asked, he further stated, “If we could get early wickets, we could put SL under pressure. I am expecting that it will be a close competition come the test series. I have to thank the bowlers for providing the chances.”

Zimbabwe Tri-series: Ind vs Srilanka-2nd match

Another valuable century by Rohit Sharma and a significant contribution from Virat Kohli ensured that the match saw as facile an ending as when it began with India beating Sri Lanka by seven wickets at the Queen’s Sports Club in Bulawayo.
Sharma hit a second consecutive ODI century en route to India completing the rout against Sri Lanka. It was particularly relevant from the perspective that once again the openers failed to get going.
What was also important that there was another player besides the Indian captain, Suresh Raina, in charge of chasing down the modest target of 242. That was none other than Virat Kohli who gave Sharma good company with a 153 run partnership for the third wicket.
The duo were never really threatened by the opposition attack and all it required was for India to put their head down and quietly go about their business at a steady pace. That Sri Lanka had terribly underscored was a given. But after the loss to Zimbabwe, it was imperative for India to win and stay alive as the Zimbabwe ODI tri series progressed.
With Rohit Sharma providing the steady hand but at a run a ball pace, Kohli eased into his own role as the complementary partner with eighty-two runs of his own as India went past the Sri Lankan total in the forty-fourth over.
